Although biometrics refers to the identification of an individual based on his/her physiological or behavioural characteristics. It is important to realise that the accuracy specifications of a biometric system may vary depending on the application. Sometimes accuracy is not critical to a particular use of biometrics and the more important concern is to prevent the biometric measurement from having any significant impact on the user.
